How does the service work?
Erne Water Taxi provide chauffeur driven, guided boat tours and a personalised pick up and drop off service anywhere on Lough Erne allowing visitors to see and experience county Fermanagh in a new way. Your driver will also give you a guided commentary along the way. As well as our daily tours, The Islander Pass, we also provide private set tours of the Lough which can be booked through the website. If you would prefer a bespoke tour we can customise your tour to suit your needs.
When is this service available?
We are open from the beginning of March until the end of October and operate anytime during daylight hours.
You can check availability or make a booking up to 24 hours in advance through our website or if you want to go today give us a call to check availability.
How many people can your boats hold?
Our boats hold up to 8 people and are specifically designed for travel in the comfort of a closed cabin with individual coach seating and unrestricted views of the Lough.
If you have a smaller group that’s no problem we can take 1 person up to 8 people of your very own private tour of Lough Erne. Groups of up to 32 people can be accommodated.
Where does the boats depart from?
For our Enniskillen departures we leave from Enniskillen Castle Museums Jetty (unless agreed otherwise in advance).
Just look out for the bright yellow boat. We can also depart from Jetty on Lough Erne on request for an additional charge.
How much do the tours cost?
The cost of all our tours can be found on the website and remains the same year round. Our private tours are charged per hour regardless of the group size.
A pick up and drop off service can be arranged anywhere on Lough Erne and is charged per hour (includes the time it takes us to get to your location and return to our base in Enniskillen). Please contact us in advance for a quote for bespoke tours.
What type of Clothing is suitable?
For our tours it is advisable to wear footwear suitable for walking on an island where ground can be uneven, steep, soft and wet underfoot. Also a warm waterproof jacket is beneficial as you may be more exposed to the weather conditions than in town.
Is there any sanitary accommodation aboard?
There is no toilet on board the boat but there is toilets close to the departure point and at a few locations around the Lough which we can stop at on request.
Is it suitable for people with mobility needs?
We indicate that a requirement for passengers is a reasonable level of agility. This is principally for boarding and alighting from the boat. We can take 1 folded wheelchair or buggy on the back of the boat and can assist those with limited mobility aboard. If you have any queries regarding specific mobility needs please contact us so we can assist you where possible.
Is there any food and drink available and can we bring our own?
Passengers may bring their own food and drink as there are no catering facilities aboard or on the Islands.
Can your tours be cancelled and what is your cancellation policy?
In the event of the weather being unsuitable in the interests of comfort and safety the trip may be cancelled. In such events, passengers will be informed with as much notice as possible and where possible will be offered an alternative date. If the alternative date is not suitable for the passenger, there will be a refund of the full price paid. In event of the customer cancelling there will be a refund of the price paid, subject to deduction of a 2.5% admin charge if cancelled 48 hours in advance of the booking departure time. We do not store credit card details, nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
